Quality begins long before harvest. Discover the landscapes, people, and agricultural work behind every FreshFood pineapple grown in Panama.

Before a pineapple is selected, packed, labeled, and prepared for international markets, it begins here.

In open fields surrounded by Panama’s tropical landscape, rows of pineapple plants follow the natural shape of the land. Red soil, changing skies, warm light, and periods of rain form part of the everyday environment in which the fruit develops.

These images offer a look at a part of the supply chain that is often unseen: the place where the product begins.

A Product Shaped by Its Place

Fresh produce is inseparable from its origin.

Every field has its own rhythm. The landscape changes throughout the day, the weather moves quickly, and each stage of the crop requires attention long before the fruit is ready to leave the farm.

Walking through these fields makes one thing clear: pineapple production does not begin at the packing facility. It begins with the land, with agricultural knowledge, and with the daily observation of the crop.

This is where quality first starts taking shape.

Before the Box, There Is the Field

International buyers usually encounter pineapple after it has been harvested and prepared for shipment. By that point, the fruit has already passed through months of growth, care, planning, and fieldwork.

Behind every export box is a much larger landscape.

There are carefully organized rows stretching across the hills. There are plants at different stages of development. There are decisions made according to the condition of the crop, the weather, and the expected harvest period.

The final product may travel far from Panama, but its identity begins here.

Staying Close to the Origin

For FreshFood, being connected to the farm means understanding the product before it becomes part of a commercial operation.

It means seeing the environment in which the fruit grows, maintaining communication with the people working in the field, and recognizing that consistency begins long before transportation is scheduled.

This connection between farm and market allows us to present more than a product. It allows us to share its origin with greater transparency and context.

From Panama to the World

These fields are the first chapter of a much longer journey.

From the soil of Panama, the pineapples will eventually move through harvesting, selection, packing, and international distribution. But before any of that happens, they belong to this landscape.

This is where our pineapples begin.

And everything that follows starts with the work taking place here.
